Let Your Words Come Out and Play: A Writing Workshop for Women
December 20th, 2011Start Date: Sunday, January 29, 2012
End Date: Sunday, January 29, 2012
Join Barbara Steiner for a one-day workshop designed to help you explore and nurture your writer˙s voice. In a spirit of support and cooperation, we will write in short, 5-20 minute sessions, inspired by a range of prompts that can help us tune into our inner impulses and explore the places they take us. We˙ll be invited to share what we’ve written and, because our pieces are brand new, as listeners we˙ll limit our feedback to what we like and remember. This method gives us a space to write without critiques, suggestions, or questions from our fellow writers. Instead, we can write from right here, right now, and share our new creations with the world just as they are. All women are invited to attend.
Barbara has been a meditator and a member of the Aryaloka community since 1991. She is inspired by the many ways that awareness can be accessed and used as a source for creativity and self-exploration. She is an Affiliate of Amherst Writers and Artists (AWA), the method on which this workshop is based. You can read more about AWA in Writing Alone & With Others by Pat Schneider, Oxford University Press, and at http://www.amherstwriters.com/
At Aryaloka, we strive to make our programs available to everyone regardless of their financial circumstances. Our fee structure allows you to pay according to your means. The Sustaining price is for people comfortably paying their rent or mortgage, and who can afford the occasional meal out and movie. The Sustaining price level also helps Aryaloka offer lower prices to those who could otherwise not afford to attend. Any payment above this price is a tax-deductible donation. Mid-Level prices are for those who have a regular income and are paying their mortgage or rent. Prices at this level contribute to the range of Aryaloka’s operating costs. The Base-Level price is for those without an income or with an income low enough that making ends meet is a challenge. Those whose circumstances are not included above can call the office to arrange alternate pricing.
