Men’s Practice Day – October
June 21st, 2012Date: October 13, 2012
Times: 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Basic Goodness & the Spiritual Life
Join Vidhuma and Perry Blass for a vibrant Practice Day. We will be thinking together about what Basic Goodness means in the context of Buddhist teaching, and what Basic Goodness means in everyday living. We will be meditating some, sharing thoughts, and appreciating the expression of Basic Goodness in how we live. Basic Goodness is not typically in the language of Buddhist writings – yet the concept of basic Goodness and its manifestation are in so many ways near the heart of the Buddha’s teaching. The day will be one of exploring this together.
Schedule for the day:
- 9:00 – Arrival, tea/coffee
- 9:30 – Introduction to the day
- 11:00 – Meditation, followed by discussion and sharing with the group
- 12:30 – Lunch
- 1:30 – Final meditation, discussion
- 2:30 – Close
Volunteers are needed for lunch! Please contact Eric Wentworth at eric@wintercrowstudio.com to make arrangements.
Aryaloka Men’s Practice Days are an opportunity for men in the sangha to spend time together in meditation and discussion around aspects of the Dharma. One of the day’s primary purposes is to support spiritual friendship within the men’s sangha and create an environment in which men can study together and build relationships with each other.
