Men's Day - JuneWhat does Buddhism have to say about fatherhood?

On this Men’s Practice Day (which falls on Father’s Day!) we’ll be coming together to talk about fatherhood in the Buddhist tradition. One of the first things we learn about the Buddha is that he left his child Rahula when he decided to go forth and seek Enlightenment. But does Buddhism have more to say about it?

We’ll explore a bit deeper into the Buddhist texts and our own experiences – either as a father ourselves or in our relationship with our own fathers – to see what more we can discover and how that might relate practically to our own practice.

* To honor the holiday and allow folks to spend time with their families, we’ll break a bit earlier than usual on this Men’s Day at 1:00pm.
