Meditation is a means of transforming the mind. It allows us to develop greater awareness, positive emotions, energy and insight into the true nature of our lives. It is a tool for changing both ourselves and the world. Buddhism starts with the recognition that all human beings can experience the limitless energy and freedom that comes with spiritual growth. The Buddha's teaching (the Dharma) helps us to develop Wisdom and Compassion, and leads us to realize our full potential. At Aryaloka we begin with traditional meditations. Each is a complete pathway to awakening and also serves as a basis for other forms of meditation.
No previous experience is necessary. We recommend that you take two or three Introductory Days or a combination of an Introductory Evening Series and an Introductory Day to get a complete beginning in the practice of meditation and Buddhism. |
