Aryaloka Buddhist Center

General information

meditation group

What level should I take?

Open to All means everyone is welcome to participate, newcomers and experienced practitioners. Join us in friendliness and devotion as our sangha celebrates Buddhist festivals and other events. Instruction is offered on 'open' retreats, unless otherwise stated.

Introductory courses include instruction in the fundamentals of Buddhism and meditation - the Mindfulness of Breathing and the Metta Bhavana (development of Loving-Kindness). No prior experience is necessary. A combination of day workshops and/or an evening series are recommended for a full introduction, however any series or day can be taken on its own.

Experienced level events assume some prior exposure to Buddhism and a familiarity with the meditation practices, Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana. They are suitable for newly established practitioners and practitioners of long standing alike.

Who are the instructors?

Instructors for our classes and retreats are experienced teachers and members of the Western Buddhist Order who have dedicated their lives to Dharma practice for the benefit of all beings.
