Donate your "stuff" for fundraising
Do you have clothing or other things that you don't use? Please consider donating them to Aryaloka for fundraising! It's EASY and requires minimal time and effort on your part. We sell the donated items and contribute all proceeds to Aryaloka's operating expenses or the Bridge of Light Fund*, as noted.
Here are the kinds of things we're looking for.
- CDs, DVDs, and audio/video tapes: Kathleen Winter sells these on eBay. Items must be undamaged and fully playable. If you have any questions, just email Kathleen.
- Books: Kathleen sells these on Amazon.com, with proceeds to go toward the Bridge of Light Fund*. We accept new or used books currently listed with Amazon, as long as they are clean (some writing and highlighting is acceptable) with all pages intact. Obscure subjects are fine! Best sellers and mass-market editions generally don't fetch a high enough price to be worth selling. Moldy or stained books are NOT acceptable. If you have any questions you can email Kathleen.
- Clothing and household items: Sandy Bonin brings these to a high end consignment shop. The shopkeeper accepts women's clothing in all sizes, but it must be in-season, clean, ironed, and hung on hangers or folded neatly. It also must to be in style and free of excessive wear, with no tears, missing buttons, or stains. She also accepts accessories like jewelry, belts, pocketbooks, hats, and scarves. Other acceptable items include household items such as dishes (if not an individual item, she prefers full sets), glassware, mirrors, pictures, frames, knick-knacks, lamps, small bureaus, tables, shelves, bookshelves, etc. She will consider electric appliances depending on make and design. If you're unsure whether an item is consignable, just email Sandy.
Please leave items in the box marked "DONATIONS" in the entry foyer. (If the box isn't there, please see Sandy or bring them back another time when the box is there.) One of our committee members will collect, sort, and put them up for sale.
Please direct any general questions about fundraising activities to any of the kula members:
Many thanks for your help in raising funds for the upkeep and maintenance of our spiritual home!
