Shibui: Ink, Paper, Stone Exhibition

October 15, 2017 - November 30, 2017

Art Exhibition: Shibui: Ink, Paper, Stone
Aryaloka Buddhist Center, October 15 – November 30.

Coupling Rona Conti’s  elegant, graceful, sweep of black ink on absorbent paper, with the meditative serene,  stacked stone  prints of Soosen Dunholter produces a two-person exhibition called Shibui: Ink, Paper, Stone. The work of these two New England artists shares the meaning of the Japanese word SHIBUI: the balance of simplicity and complexity, elegance and rough, spontaneous and constrained through their respective mediums of calligraphy and collagraph prints.

Opening reception October 15

2pm Demonstration of Calligraphy by Rona Conti.

3pm – 4:30pm  Reception

3:15 Talks by Artists Soosen Dultholter (printmaker) and Rona Conti (Calligrapher)

 Public viewing times: M – F, October 16 – Nov 30, 10 am – 3 pm. Closed November 8 – 14 and Thanksgiving Day.

The Generosity Kula
invites everyone – each time time they come to Aryaloka – to bring one item for our collection boxes in the entryway. We are collecting non-perishable food items, personal care/cleaning products, or warm clothing items. Your generosity makes such a difference in many people’s lives! We thank you for your past donations and encourage you to continue. With gratitude, the Generosity Kula.
