mensday_smMen’s practice days are an excellent chance every few months for the men’s sangha to come together in the context of practice.

For this session, we’ll be continuing our exploration of the Triratna System of Practice by looking at how we define the “self”.  Looking closely at the world demonstrates that nothing is fixed or permanent – all is in flow and interdependent. By changing our view of self we discover something transcendent.

The Schedule for the Day will be…

9:00 – Arrive
9:15 – 40-min Meditation
10:00 – Coffee & tea/discussion
11:00 – Led Meditation on topic
12:00 – Lunch
1:00 – Discussion reflection
2:00 – Led Meditation on topic
2:40 – Reflection and checking-out

This class further explores this year’s theme on the Triratna System of Practice – the foundation of how we practice the Dharma here in the Triratna Buddhist Community. It’s not necessary to have attended previous Men’s Days to benefit from each class.

Please note: Registration is required for the day and there is also a sliding scale fee to support Aryaloka.  We want all men in our community to be able to attend, so if the fee will be a challenge for you, please contact the office to arrange alternate pricing.

* At Aryaloka, we strive to make our programs available to everyone regardless of their financial circumstances. Our fee structure allows you to pay according to your means. The Sustaining price is for people comfortably paying their rent or mortgage, and who can afford the occasional meal out and movie. The Sustaining price level also helps Aryaloka offer lower prices to those who could otherwise not afford to attend. Any payment above this price is a tax-deductible donation. Mid-Level prices are for those who have a regular income and are paying their mortgage or rent. Prices at this level contribute to the range of Aryaloka’s operating costs. The Base-Level price is for those without an income or with an income low enough that making ends meet is a challenge. Those whose circumstances are not included above can call the office to arrange alternate pricing.

* Retreat participants are asked to work together to prepare and clean up after meals and to help with general cleanup at the end of the retreat.
